Sky Q is Sky’s latest TV service aimed at competing with the likes of Virgin (Vevo) and BT (Vision). Sky Q has several new key features which makes it a vast improvement on their Sky+ HD service. With the new silver box, you can record up to 4 channels at the same time, while watching a fifth, as well as being able to watch your recordings on your tablet in any room. With the silver package, you also get a Sky mini box which simply connects to your router and allows you to watch different Sky channels in another room, so there is no need for additional satellite cabling from your Sky dish. The new silver box also acts as a WI-FI hotspot (with Sky broadband), vastly improving your wireless internet signal in the room it is located in, The service comes with a new look menu and they have also improved the way you search for programs and channels. The new silver box also supports 4K UHD TV. Although initially, there will not be any 4K content, Sky will be adding this at a later date so we will keep an eye on that. Overall this is an exciting new service and one which we think was well overdue.
